Poor Jose
It was bound to happen sooner or later. The dreadful avocado tree in the neighbors yard finally claimed a victim. The tree hangs over the drive way at my parents house and constantly drops its unwanted avocados wherever it pleases. Jose and I stayed at my parents house last week while mom, dad, and zach went to kentucky to see the reesors. soo not fair. Anyways, jose was walking out to the garage when he slipped on a discarded avocado. He twisted his foot and almost tore a ligament clean in two. One month recovery with an oh-so-fashionable boot. Poor guy. He does like going grocery shopping now that he can use the motorized scooters. If thats all it took to make shopping with him pleasant i would have thought of this a loooong time ago :). Other than that, nothing too exciting. I got a promotion at work! same job just a different title and a bigger check so im not complaining. I was reading over my past entries and realized i had posted something about a healthy lifestyle. oops. I will admit that i have gotten fluffier around the edges. :( Well not anymore! I joined weight watchers and I LOVE IT! Its super easy to use and so fun. Plus, in my efforts to save money on gas, i bought the CUTEST mint green beach cruiser. Call me ecstatic. Im still in search of a basket to put on the front. Hello new ride! Work isnt to far so i will be riding to and from. Eww look at me ramble on. Thats it for the Zendejas Family!

Love Day
This weekend my hubby suprised me with a little valentine's getaway. It started on saturday morning with a little scavanger hunt. The hunt led me to the kitchen where i found a dozen red roses. From there i was sent to our truck where there was a teddy bear with the next clue. The clue sent me back to our room where an envelope was waiting with driving directions and instructions to dress for a nice dinner and bring comfortable clothing. I was so excited for my letters and anxious to find out where the driving directions would take me. I drove to the unknown destination and ended up in Dana Point at a hotel ON the beach. Once i got to the room there were flowers everywhere and my wonderful husband holding another teddy bear. I was so excited i cried! We walked on the beach and enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Chart House restaurant. BEST FOOD EVER! On sunday we drove into san clemente and walked around the town and down to the pier. We had such a relaxing time enjoying each others company. I love that guy so much :)

New Year
2009 will always be a year to remeber because its the year we got married. YAY! We hope that the new year finds everyone well! We are so excited because my sister Danielle is having a baby boy in june. it has been the hardest secret to keep! We are so happy for the Reesors but sad they are so far away :(. As for us, no babies. We have a lot to do before we think about that. Our goal this year is to get our own place, even if its a one bedroom apartment for now. Jose is well on his way to finishing school and is still loving his job. I went back to school this semester and I am loving it! Im taking spanish at Mt. Sac....dont laugh, i can roll my r's pretty well if i do say so myself....I wont be done with school for awhile, but thats ok. Im a bit of an eternal student :) Jose and i are doing well. We gave talks in church last sunday. It was his first talk as a convert in sacrament and he did so awesome! I was so nervous but he kept his cool. As for now, there isnt much else going on. We are just enjoying being married! Congrats to all of our friends who got engaged recently! We love you!

A long time coming
We havent posted in awhile, so here goes. Jose has been enjoying his calling as a den leader. Recently the missionaries have been asking him to go on lessons with them. Jose was always bummed that he couldnt go on a mission so this is an awesome opportunity for him! As for me, I have just been working at Tilly's...not to exciting. We are both going back to school in January which i am sooo excited about! This last saturday we had the opportunity to go to the USC game. It made me realize how much i miss school! Jose has a few more classes to go to finish school. I dont even want to think about how much i have left to go. We are so busy! I love the holidays and am so excited to spend them with family. I just wish it looked like a Utah fall outside! I've always loved the feel of the holidays and the extra love that is spread around. We will be splitting time with both families this year. We have to balance things out now that we are married. Being married is so much fun!

Updates
Jose and I have just been going along. Jose has been called to be a den leader for the cub scouts. He's so excited to start his new calling but is at a loss as to where to start. He never had the opportunity to be in scouts! Jose recently has been in contact with one of the missionaries that taught him. It was a good chance for Jose to reflect on how he got here. Not much has happened for me. Jose got us gym passes for my birthday, along with so many other wonderful things! We have been working on out goals...it sure is a long process. Whether or not we have lost any significant amount of weight im not sure, but we do feel good! We are grateful for all the time we get to spend together, even if we are sweating at the gym! Not too muc going on right now. Just missing friends and family!

Temples
Jose and I have a goal. We want to visit all of the temples in California. In doing so, we will take pictures and start a scrapbook of all of our trips, including following visits to the same temple. So far we have gone to Los Angeles, San Diego and Redlands. We hope in the next few months to be able to take a trip to the Sacramento and Oakland Temples. This has been our favorite family goal by far! There is just something about taking time out of our hectic schedules to serve the Lord in His house that puts things into perspective. We both love going to the temple! Along with the photos in the scrapbook, we are each wrting a journal entry about our experience at the temple that day. Our hope is that we can fill multiple scrapbooks throughout our lives so that our children and our children's children will know that we love the temple and serving our Heavenly Father.
