A long time coming

We havent posted in awhile, so here goes. Jose has been enjoying his calling as a den leader. Recently the missionaries have been asking him to go on lessons with them. Jose was always bummed that he couldnt go on a mission so this is an awesome opportunity for him! As for me, I have just been working at Tilly's...not to exciting. We are both going back to school in January which i am sooo excited about! This last saturday we had the opportunity to go to the USC game. It made me realize how much i miss school! Jose has a few more classes to go to finish school. I dont even want to think about how much i have left to go. We are so busy! I love the holidays and am so excited to spend them with family. I just wish it looked like a Utah fall outside! I've always loved the feel of the holidays and the extra love that is spread around. We will be splitting time with both families this year. We have to balance things out now that we are married. Being married is so much fun!

Updates

Jose and I have just been going along. Jose has been called to be a den leader for the cub scouts. He's so excited to start his new calling but is at a loss as to where to start. He never had the opportunity to be in scouts! Jose recently has been in contact with one of the missionaries that taught him. It was a good chance for Jose to reflect on how he got here. Not much has happened for me. Jose got us gym passes for my birthday, along with so many other wonderful things! We have been working on out goals...it sure is a long process. Whether or not we have lost any significant amount of weight im not sure, but we do feel good! We are grateful for all the time we get to spend together, even if we are sweating at the gym! Not too muc going on right now. Just missing friends and family!

Temples

Jose and I have a goal. We want to visit all of the temples in California. In doing so, we will take pictures and start a scrapbook of all of our trips, including following visits to the same temple. So far we have gone to Los Angeles, San Diego and Redlands. We hope in the next few months to be able to take a trip to the Sacramento and Oakland Temples. This has been our favorite family goal by far! There is just something about taking time out of our hectic schedules to serve the Lord in His house that puts things into perspective. We both love going to the temple! Along with the photos in the scrapbook, we are each wrting a journal entry about our experience at the temple that day. Our hope is that we can fill multiple scrapbooks throughout our lives so that our children and our children's children will know that we love the temple and serving our Heavenly Father.

Laundry Day

Our washer broke about a week ago, and because there is no creek out back where I can scrub our clothes on a rock I made my first trip ever to the coin operated laundromat. I was so excited to be able to do 10 loads of laundry at once! One and a half hours and a bunch of quarters later our laundry was washed, dried and ready to take home. (its still sitting on the floor by the way. I couldnt bring myself to put it all away last night.) Im so grateful that Jose was willing to come help me with the laundry after working a 10-hour day. Not have a washing machine makes you appreciate the convience of having one that works. So if in the next week or so if our clothing is not up to par, it means we ran out of quarters.

New beginnings

This Sunday we will have been married for three months. Needless to say we know everything there is to know about being married. Right? Not so much...But we have learned a FEW things. Jose and I decided to make a list of the things we have discovered since getting hitched...

Megan's List:
1. I'm not very good at cover sharing.
2. Bathrooms dont clean themselves.
3. I should have paid more attention to my mom while she was cooking.
4. Money doesnt grow on trees.
5. Being married to my best friend is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. :)

Jose's List:
1. Picking up after myself does wonders for my wife's disposition.
2. My wife asks A LOT of questions.
3. Marriage is full of compromise...like not being able to sleep with the tv on anymore...no wait, that wasnt a compromise :(
4. I wish I had saved money when I was younger...better late than never, right?
5. I love Megan more today than yesterday :)

Keep watching the blog for new updates. We love being married and learning new things about each other everyday. Yay marriage!
